Nothing’s got a new pair of wireless earbuds in the works to go along with its upcoming budget phone, the Phone 4b. This week, Nothing officially teased the Ear 3a, which will likely be the more budget-friendly alternative to its Ear 3 wireless earbuds.

We don’t know a ton based on the teaser, but if there’s one thing that’s clear, it’s that the Ear 3a will borrow a similar trick from cheaper wireless earbuds it’s released in the past—we’re getting an added pop of color.

Here’s the 3a (just the tip) in what looks like a vibrant pink color. While the Nothing Headphone A—the cheaper version of Nothing’s Headphone 1—also came in pink, this pink is a bit bolder. For context, the Ear 3 only came in black and white colorways, meaning the new colors will likely be exclusive to the A-series.

Outside of that, Nothing has offered very little info on what the Ear 3a will offer. One thing I don’t expect these wireless earbuds to have is the Super Mic feature on the Nothing Ear 3. In case you’re not familiar, that feature integrates a “talk” button into the Ear 3 case that you can push to record AI-enhanced audio through built-in microphones. I wasn’t super impressed with the feature when I tested it back when the Ear 3 was released, so if the Ear 3a doesn’t have Super Mic, I wouldn’t be too upset about it.

The main question for me will be how the sound compares to the Ear 3. Hopefully it’s in the same ballpark. Even if it is slightly worse, though, fun colors do go a long way. Nothing’s bright yellow Ear A are still among my favorite pairs released by the company, not because they have the best sound or best ANC, but because both of those things are good enough, and they’re coupled with a really fun, unique look. I still love the little pillbox charging case.

We’ll see; the Nothing Headphone A was a little plain-looking for my taste, especially compared to the Headphone 1, so maybe this is Nothing’s chance to bring back the unbeatable value of the Ear A. The Ear 3a is slated to be revealed on July 7 along with the Phone 4b.
